How We Build and Review Our Content

Every question on ETT goes through the same five-step process before a student ever sees it — and keeps being tested against real student data after release. Here is exactly how our SAT®, ACT®, and AP® practice material gets made.

Step 1 — Start From the Official Exam

Our specialists begin with the source: officially released exams and the test makers' published specifications. For the Digital SAT®, that means the College Board's question domains, adaptive module structure, and on-screen tools. For the ACT®, it means the enhanced ACT's current blueprint — down to matching its exact section structure. Every question we write is anchored to what the real exam actually tests, not to how tests looked years ago.

Step 2 — Written by Subject Specialists

Questions are authored by a team of more than 40 ETT specialists — every one holding a degree from an accredited university, each writing within their own subject area. Math items come from mathematics and engineering specialists; Reading & Writing passages come from English and humanities scholars; AP® science material comes from biology, chemistry, and physics experts.

Step 3 — Cross-Reviewed Before Release

No question reaches students on the strength of one person's judgment. Each item is cross-reviewed by other specialists on the team, who solve it independently, challenge the distractors, and check that the difficulty, format, and reasoning match the real exam. Items that don't hold up are revised or cut.

Step 4 — Tested Against Real Student Data

Release isn't the end of review. With over 1.9 million questions practiced on ETT, we continuously analyze how items perform: questions students miss most, answer patterns that suggest ambiguity, and feedback submitted from inside the test player. Items flagged by the data go back to the specialists for re-review.

Step 5 — Updated to Match the Current Exam

Standardized tests change — so does our material. Our Digital SAT® content is updated monthly to reflect the latest test trends, and our ACT® practice follows the enhanced ACT's current structure and scoring. When the real exam moves, our content moves with it.
